SCG staff assist boards, commissions and executive teams in creating sound decision-making processes that support impactful strategic planning efforts. We have the flexibility to work with an entire organization on the full process or to simply work with a small team, or one-on-one, on a primary focus area.

Strategic planning is putting into place an elaborate and systematic plan of action that serves as a mechanism for the decision-making process. The strategic planning process takes into consideration the organization’s mission/vision, the role of the board (non-profits) and internal/external factors that have an impact on decision-making.

The scope of work, timeless and processes of a strategic planning process will vary depending on the needs of the organization and the depth to which an issue is addressed. Typically, strategic planning includes a comprehensive needs assessment, coordination and facilitation of planning sessions with key staff and stakeholders, including a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats), and the development of a comprehensive and integrated strategic plan that provides clarity and accountability across the organization.
